After breaking in the shoe, it is an excellent and comfortable fit. I teach in South Korea and wear the black, or cordovan, MacNeil nearly every day. The sole is a bit slippery on rainy days, but what all leather shoe doesn't suffer this inconvenience? In spite of the price, it is a very good shoe. Only time will tell if it was a wise investment. The black style is more affordable than the cordovan, so this may factor into cost/benefit analysis.
