Wonderful Diapers

We love Mommy's Touch one-size Touchtape All in One Cloth Diapers and also Mommy's Touch one-size snap Cloth Diapers. Both my husband and I are equally thrilled to finally find cloth diapers we like. Yes there are bulkier than disposable diapers, but for our 14 month old it is a nice landing pad for her frequent falls. Washing and drying them doesn't bother us, with 2 young children in the house, we are constantly doing laundry anyway. We are delighted to have a cloth diaper we can call our own and I am trying to get everyone I know who uses disposables to switch! Thank you so much.

A tad bulky, decently holds wetness in, high quality

I decided when my son turned 2 that I would switch to cloth ("better than never"). I tried three: Bumgenius 3.0, Mommy's Touch AIO touchtape, and Mommy's Touch Pocket touchtape diapers. After using them everyday for 3 months, I really like the Bumgenius better, then the Mommy's Touch Pocket, then the Mommy's Touch AIO.

THE FIT:
My son is superskinny at 24 lbs and 35 inches. All these people who are lamenting that their 5 month old is "outgrowing" these cloth diapers apparently don't realize that most kids start growing height and may actually lose those chubby thighs and belly as they get bigger and start walking. Look, these diapers are usable on my 37 lb 4.5 year old (he's skinny too but definatly bigger around than any 1 year old I know). I find the Mommy's touch AIO are a little gappy around my son's legs even with cinching the waist down. The elastic on the waist is too tight and I think and could be more giving, this is my main problem with the diaper. Also, the width of the diaper in the crotch area is fairly wide. I use the Kushies diaper liners and since the diaper is wider than the liner, poo tends to get on the diaper more often.

LEAKS:
The Mommy's touch AIO is the last one I normally reach for. The overlap design of the pads makes them prone to leaks than the other two. I prefer the Mommy's touch pocket diaper to this one. It's not a big deal to stuff the pocket one.

HOW MANY TO BUY:
Now, I've not used cloth on a newborn, they tend to go through lots of diapers. But I've heard people say to buy 24 or 30. That seems extreme to me. I bought 9 total and use maybe 2 or 3 a day (with a disposable at night). I do a diaper load every 3 days or so, with a couple towels, in my front load washer. My kids have never had diaper rashes so I only change them when the diaper's full.

MY VERDICT:
These diapers are fine, but I would not buy them again. I would buy the Bungenius 3.0 because they are trimmer under clothing, have NEVER had leaks for me, are trimmer in the crotch and are not so snug in the waist.

Good for smaller babies?

My daughter is a chubby 11 month old (50% range in both weight/height- so not huge. Size 5 Pampers). This one-size diaper barely fits around her thighs, leaving red marks. I feel like I'm stretching the elastic to the max! The inserts get bunched up after time, which may be the reason why the diaper leaks and her clothes get wet. Although I do think they bunch up because she's super active. The inserts don't overlap as much because of her size, so that may explain her leak problem. I should look into extra inserts. But the diaper is well made and I do love it on the occasions it doesn't leak and leave a red mark. It's been a few weeks working at it, so these problems may have happened because of my inexperience with cloth diapers. Take my experience as it is, but I think this would be great for smaller children!

Great but not REALLY great.

Absorbancy is good when washed properly but they do hold a bit of a smell, even when washed on sanitary cycle. And the velcro on a couple of the diapers started coming unsewn after just a few weeks. As for the "one-size", I have a tall, very thin 2-year-old daughter and a short, very chubby 9-month-old son who both weigh about 25 lbs. and the diapers fit them both no problem. I absolutely reccommend a doubler for over nights though!!! And most #2's really do just fall right into the toilet...only an occassional scraping necessary.

Love this diaper!

I purchased this diaper a few months ago and I love it! Most of my diapers are pockets since they usually dry quicker, however, this diaper has a fantastic feature where the insert is attached but lifts up from the diaper to make for quicker drying time. I have not had any problems with wicking or leaks. There is a smaller, snap-in insert thet can be used when you need extra absorbancy. It can snap in the front or back of the diaper for boys or girls.
I can't say enough good things about this diaper and plan on purchasing a few more.

Product Description

Made with the same basic pattern as our pocket diaper our new Touchtape AIO diaper is even easier to use for the busy modern mother. With one microfleece topped microfiber soaker sewn into the diaper and a second soaker that snaps in for the lager babies this diaper is sufficient for even most heavy wetters. Our Quick Dry design prevents many of the problems that other AIOs on the market have of slow drying time and not cleaning well since it allows water to freely flow around the soakers in the wash.
